AllSync 4 Manual ➝ Service Tool

Options

  • General
  • Log
  • Data Exchange Between Service and Service Tool

General

  • Start Service Tool Automatically After User Login
This option starts the Service Tool automatically and minimizes it after user login.
  • Save window position and restore it on next startup
This option saves the window position when the Service Tool is closed and automatically restores it on the next start.
  • Show Minimized Window in Windows Taskbar as Icon Only
This option displays the minimized Service Tool window as an icon only in the notification area of the Windows taskbar.
Show Notification for the Following Events
Here you can specify that a message is displayed in the notification area of the Windows taskbar for the following events:
    • Task Start
    • Error Message During Task Run
    • Task End

Log

  • Limit Line Count in Log View
This option sets the maximum number of lines displayed in the log view under 'Status'. This can help reduce memory usage.
  • Delete Old Entries from Log File
This option automatically deletes all log entries from the files servicetool.txt and service.txt that are older than the specified number of days.
    Notes:
    • The log file servicetool.txt is checked when the Service Tool starts.
    • The log file service.txt is checked when a task starts.
    • The log files are only checked once a day.
    • Please refer to the Compatibility section of the Time Format option.
    • When deleting old log entries, a new log file is always created before the old file is deleted.

Communication Between Service and Service Tool

Here you can change the TCP port used for communication between the Scheduler service and the Service Tool. By default, the port 62324 is set. A change is only necessary if this port is already used by another application.
The Scheduler service and the Service Tool exchange information and commands via the local IP address 127.0.0.1 and the specified TCP port. If you have changed the TCP port, you can activate the new setting using the button next to the text field.
